An excellent write and very informative too. You have inspired me to visit Hampi. The mention of destruction reminded of the damage I saw in Halebeed, Malik Kafur, Md Bin Tughlak's general is supposed to have attacked the temple. We can see sculptures of row of soldiers mounted on horses all with their heads chopped off. It really saddened me to see it.
